Teams and Registration

How many teams can participate?

A maximum of 50 teams can be confirmed.

How many drivers are in a team?

The standard team entry is based on 12 drivers.

Can one company enter more than one team?

Yes. A company, brand or private-team identity may enter a maximum of two teams.

How are places allocated?

When is an entry confirmed?

An entry is confirmed only after KF1 has received and approved the complete registration documents, signed participation agreement and required payment.

How are race numbers assigned?

Race numbers are assigned in the order in which completed registrations are formally confirmed, from number 1 to number 50.

Can we choose our team colour?

Yes, from the ten available colours. The colour applies to the kart, the drivers’ racing suits and the Team Set garments. Each colour is available to a maximum of five teams. Colours are allocated in the order in which registrations are confirmed: early registration ensures the widest choice.

What happens if all 50 places are filled?

Later eligible applicants may be placed on a waiting list under the conditions published in the Participation Terms.

Can an entry be cancelled, substituted or transferred?

The official cancellation, substitution and transfer conditions will be published in the Participation Terms. No provisional website statement overrides those terms.

03

Race Format and Karts

Is the race run for 24 consecutive hours?

Yes. The race lasts exactly 24 hours, from 14:00 on Friday to 14:00 on Saturday, and is divided into three eight-hour heats. At the end of the eighth and sixteenth hours the karts stop and are lined up on the grid according to the standings at that moment; the time needed for each restart, about twenty minutes, is part of the 24 hours.

How is the final race result calculated?

Each team’s best two heat results count towards the final sporting classification. Its weakest heat result is discarded.

Do laps from the discarded heat count for charity?

Yes. Every completed lap across all three heats counts towards the team’s charitable donation.

What karts are used?

Teams use identical KF1 TATANKA karts powered by Honda GX390 four-stroke 390 cc 13 HP engines.

Are the karts drawn by lot?

No. One kart is allocated to each team and remains with that team throughout all three heats.
